Edward Downie (property and fleet director) is extremely pleased to announce that Bacton Logistics has attained bronze level Carbon Charter accreditation, awarded to businesses that commit to and adopt carbon reduction measures and sustainable business practices throughout Suffolk and Norfolk. Having achieved bronze the goal for the company is to gain Silver and Gold status.
The carbon charter branding will soon start appearing on the Bacton Logistics fleet of trucks and trailers.
Edward is particularly proud of their new depot at Woolpit, which has environmental sustainable features including LED lighting throughout the warehouse and yard, water recycling facilities, EV charging points and solar panels and a brand new fleet of electric forklift trucks.
“Having lived in our new depot for 6 months we are collating information to review our green credentials to measure our sustainability credentials which we will share to our staff and customers.”
The company is also investing in other areas including efficiency increases, process optimization, green products and renewable energy.
